Did you ever meet someone who changed how you felt
To meet a new place is a privilege no doubt
It’s the call of the wild, do you have a backbone
We dare you to come face this landscape alone
The mountains do beckon, these rich hills of green
It’s not very far, but many miles from the mean
If it’s clarity you seek, come find your next purpose
A sacrifice is required, place your body in service
Travel here and be smitten by the glorious twilight
Mother Nature may be ancient, but boy can she fight
Stop twiddling your thumbs, there’s no need to be bored
‘Tis clean fun that you seek, She pays a reward
The chill of Her wind is a mean uppercut
Stay here for too long, and She’ll kick your fat butt
Her views they will stun you, a blow to the mouth
Be it north, east or west, but especially the south
Just put up your dukes, let’s see what you got
Like it or not, She’ll knock out your snot
If you’re hiking alone, leave home your cologne
Your muscles will throb, ache, moan or just groan
The real war’s inside you, it surely must cease
Someone must say it, so we declare, “Peace!”
Be wise and say nothing, deflate your windbag
Choose now to surrender, raise high your white flag
This month is called March, so its march-on you must
Your elbows still bend but the knees got some rust
Your scalp it will itch from all the dust in the air
Of the clothes you might bring make sure you don’t care
Consider your wish this is no chandelier swing
Cough a bug from your throat, forget that g-string
As you stare into the abyss of a dancing campfire
Admit your situation doesn’t seem all that dire
The sky here at night is where your life makes more sense
The howl of a coyote contrasts current events
You can point to a planet as it orbits along
Dinner is a burnt hot dog, here’s where you belong
Breathe in the constellations, reduce anxiety
Our tribe of nature lovers, is a welcome society
Now close your heavy eyelids, release a belly burp
Awaken to a choir of flyers, like angels they do chirp
A sunrise from 12-hundred feet will leave you well astonished
When you’re home and finally back to work—imagine all you’ll accomplish
Your duty as a human is to think, plan and ponder
This pad is a safe place to roam, run or wander
It’s gritty, it’s grubby, cow poop’s in plain sight
But the decision to come here will leave you just right
This terrain is not easy, not for people made of dough
But if you weather Jewels Vista you can conquer any foe
